Week of July 11th - Inventors Adventure

Join us for an amazing Inventors Adventure as students ages 9-14 learn about the core components that make up any great invention. Using the Little Bits Engineering System, students will develop a clear understanding of how inputs, outputs, wiring and power can be used to create fun inventions.  Once students have mastered the core components they will identify a problem to solve that matters to them. Students will then invent a solution using STEM skills such as prototyping, system design and test engineering. If your child has a spark to create and invent, then join us for this great adventure.

Week of July 25th - NH LEGO "Intro to Robotics"

Movies have the power to entertain, educate, and inspire us. This year, the SERESC Academy for Kids will take students on the film maker’s journey.

From storyboards to scripts through post production and premiere, students will create their very own movie short learning all the skills that film makers use to create amazing movies. Students will work in teams to develop a three minute movie short that will include both live action and stop motion utilizing LEGO components. They will create characters and storylines based on the “Hero’s Journey” and build their film-making skills from pre-to post-production.

Once complete, each team will showcase their films at their very own premiere festival. Each student will take home copies of their final films to share with family and friends.

We are fortunate to combine the talents of 3 facilitators for Lights, Camera, LEGOs! John Beaulieu, M.Ed leverages his 35 years of experience in the field of business, television production and education to work collaboratively with educators and students in the use of video equipment and television production. We have Dan Hughes who has been teaching LEGO Building since 2009 and works with more than twenty schools and organizations across NH.
