FIRST LEGO Team Members Recognized for Outstanding Work

Rainbow Blizzard Queens - Chairkids awardThis season the New Hampshire LEGO League fielded five teams to participate in the FIRST LEGO and Jr FIRST LEGO programs. Each team focused on a different aspect of the natural disaster theme by looking at blizzards, earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, and asteroid strikes. With a short ten week window the teams were able to gain a detailed understanding of the problems that face people during natural disasters and develop some great solutions to those problems. states 18Teams earned various recognition in areas of innovation, design, creativity and overall awards including a "Chairkids Award" and a statewide 3rd place finish at the FLL state competition.

Congratulations to the following members for earning their individual awards from the NH LEGO League for the roles they played on their individual team.

 
 
Creativity Award – This award is given to members of the JrFLL teams that showed an aptitude for creative design and innovative ideas to make their model or presentation board outstanding.
2014 Winners include: Matthew P, Murray M, Tyler H, and Ella R.
 
Leadership Award – This award is given to members of the JrFLL teams that showed not only the ability to lead but an aptitude to follow and be open-minded and understanding. To be able to direct the team without “telling” and earn the respect of others through actions not words.
2014 Winners include: Austin B, Leah B, and Cameron B.
 
Top Researcher – This award is given to members of the JrFLL teams that showed sound research skills and the ability to assist their team in understanding key construction and design requirements. In addition they supported their team by providing extensive educational research materials.
2014 Winners include: Harrison N, and Luke R.
 
Inspiration Award - This award is given to members of the JrFLL and FLL teams that demonstrated an understanding of the Core Values that are revered by top FIRST teams all across the world. These team members overcame adversity, showed passion, desire, and an energy that will lead them to success.
2014 Winners include: Aron O, Finn H, Alexander L, and Emily H.
 
Best Builder - This award is given to members of the JrFLL and FLL teams that showed an incredible ability to see construction and design opportunities and make their teams better through hard work and determination.
2014 Winners include: Stewart W, and Peter B.
 
Perseverance Award – This award is given to members of the FLL team that showed the ability to overcome the challenges that we could face everyday. Winners of this award have proven they will take risk and come out of their comfort zone to try and achieve success.
2014 Winners include: Zach W, and Eric R.
 
Core Values Award – This award is given to members of the FLL team that showed they truly understood what it means to sacrifice for the team. To put others before themselves in an effort to make everyone on the team better.
Our 2014 Winner is: Jack R.
 
Most Improved Award – This award is given to members of the FLL team that showed a significant increase in their knowledge and understanding about the FLL research project, Robot Design, Core Values, and Robot Competition.
Our 2014 Winner is: Ryley W.
 
Best Researcher – This award is given to members of the FLL team that showed a dedicated focus on all aspects of the research project and went above and beyond to gather information to help the team be successful.
Our 2014 Winner is: Elijah B.
 
Top Design Engineer – This award is given to members of the FLL team that showed an uncanny ability to not only grasp design skills and concepts needed to create robotic attachments, but also the ability to easily integrate them into the FIRST challenge board quickly.
Our 2014 Winner is: Tyler B.
 
Best Strategy Award - This award is given to members of the FLL team that showed the ability to look at the entire competition table and map a strategy for success that could be shared and integrated with all team member solutions and designs.
Our 2014 Winner is: Kobe G.
 
Top Performance Award – This award is given to the NH LEGO League top performing robotics driver and wheelman.  This years winners scored 403 pts which shattered our best record by more than 50 points.
The 2014 Winners are the team of Ty G, and Aidan H.
 
Team Leadership Award – This award was given to Cole Labonville for his four years of unselfish service and leadership to several of our FIRST LEGO League teams. His work and effort have made us a top performing program. Cole's positive attitude and work ethic made everyone around him better and earned him the respect of everyone he worked with.
 
FIRST programs are some of the most challenging STEM activities kids can participate in and some of the most rewarding. These young men and women deserve a tremendous amount of recognition for their effort this season.  Thanks so much to all the coaches and parents for their hard work to make this season a success.
